Here is a detailed word to word meaning, it took some time to get clarity on few spellings as this song source in original tamil text i could find only in above 3 places (Karnatik site, https://venkatakavi.org and one more).
Note: I am neither a Tamil pandit nor serious carnatic listener but i just attempted to extract the meaning as close as possible given some limitations on few spellings/words still not clear as to which is authentic. I had to dig/read a little to know about the composer more to understand more context too .So as said above “Corrections if any errors are always welcome”. i did learn a bit about this composer history, theme overall in his works in this process too.

Meaning : He(Lord Krishna) who with the music of his wind-flute and also engaged in a loving relationship with us stole/captured all of our hearts (One can also take it as He removed all unwanted stuff from our hearts/minds in that process)
kETTu urugAda manam enna manamo-

Meaning : Or is it vice that’s carrying worldly gossips ?
Contextual Meaning seems to be: The composer or a devotee like Gopika is wondering about that human mind which still does not get involved in Krishna bhakti/love of Krishna despite hearing how he had captured our(it could mean Gopis like Krishna devotees or from composer perspective) devotees hearts with his love together with music of his flute. He wonders if it’s perhaps the vice of carrying/bearing the worldly gossips.

Note : There’s confusion to me as to what’s the right tamil spelling for 2nd line here (MellIRum or Mellirum , IrAna or IRAna here as they can change meaning here and i have interpreted what i know from context)
Not sure what’s the correct spelling of “AriyAna or ARiyAna” as well as the word Shidal (not Shidai as OP posted) as per 2 sources indicate an insect type i.e a termite ant here which has a specific single job/task at hand to do. But it is wondered here that humans have thousand tasks/jobs to do.
adu(That) taghum(equal/norm/proper) idu(This) perum(perum(to get/receive) or peRum ??) Ashaiyai(desire) maNandu(to wed/engaged) Ashaiyai maNandu Udalil(temporary separation/rift) iNaindu(to join/merge)

nallavai(the good) arindu(know) allana(unwanted) erindu(discard) mellana(gently) ezhundu(arise) mighupadamidenru(know as high loftier goal/aim)
Contextual meaning: Mind is going after various things in expectation of getting greater happiness/joy like/akin to that which can give permanent one but it’s unable to know the difference/shortcoming in general and it does this as the brain/cognitive wrongly/in delusion seeks/expects to obtain such happiness in those things/pursits by its wisdom. Composer/devotee wants to know the real good thing by discarding the unwanted and to slowly arise to strive for it.

(repeat madhyamakAla sAhityam)
Contextual meaning: Composer/devotee wonders what’s that head that does not bow down in respect to the Lord Krishna/Hari? Is it simply like an entrance of a house where beautiful woman Menaka whose famed veena “vani” resides/plays music ?
Or is it used/attracted so much to seeing Women face like an art-work ?
Why are these heads remain so ignorant when it comes to HariBhakti to ask its price of a weighing unit asif its’ a commodity? So the composer/devotee is highlighting some people/heads are attracted to music, beautiful women so much but they are unware/ignorant of Hari Bhakti.
